Arboricultural and Open Space Risk Audits

Arbor Survey has extensive experience in parks and open space management including asset auditing, open space contract management, Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping and Global Positioning System (GPS) data collection of open space assets including trees.

Our consultants assess each individual asset providing it with an individual condition assessment allowing you to employ appropriate maintenance and management techniques.

Tree Risk Assessments

Trees are very important in the overall landscape but do come with safety risks if not managed on a regular basis by an expert arborist. At Arbor Survey we complete tree risk and works audits for the public sector (local government) and private clients such as golf courses, childcare centres, schools and other private land holdings. Each tree is assessed for health and condition and/or identified as a hazard.

Arbor Survey use the Quantified Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA) methodology and the International Society of Arboriculture, Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) system to produce high-level risk assessment advice and works reporting based on sound and accurate data. Our comprehensive assessment reports prioritise works or removals required to allow landowners or managers to respond quickly to tree related risks.

Tree Works Programs

In addition to the prioritised works list (including mapping based on the land parcels and latest aerial imagery), Arbor Survey can provide a web-based Geographic Information System (GIS) tree location and works plan for staff/contractors to use for multiple sites. The web based Geographic Information System (GIS) provided as a URL link to sites identifies all the trees and the priority of works colour coded for each tree.

This web based mapping enables a customised web link to be provided to staff/contractors so they can navigate to each tree by using their Global Positioning System (GPS) enabled smart phone or tablet (iPhone, Android device or similar) and see the details and the works required for each tree. This system aids staff/contractors in providing accurate quotations for any tree work and efficiency gains in locating each tree and the identified required works.
